You Asked a Question: Don Hill on the Legacy of Michael A. Persinger and Our Influence on the Paranormal
We are happy to share a conversation with journalist and artist Don Hill about his collaboration with Dr. Michael Persinger and the Koren (“God”) Helmet, which uses pulsed energies to stimulate the temporal lobes. Hill recounts a ghost experience in his Rocky Mountain home and later re-experiencing the same presence and fear in Persinger’s lab, raising whether such events can be created externally or reveal something that's already inherent.
He discusses external factors that may shape paranormal and religious experiences, including geophysical features, piezoelectric effects in stressed granite, infrasound and standing waves, and “space weather” from solar storms possibly correlating with anxiety and common anomalous reports. He references Jung’s view that UFOs, poltergeists, and ghosts increase during cultural tension, and explores epigenetic memory. Hill argues some people may be exceptional “psychonauts”, but emphasizes scientific measurement, and urges collaboration between artists and scientists, using tools like sound and repetition, meditative states, and art to explain how perception can be shaped into reality.
